The Xiaomi Mi 5s is the next flagship from Xiaomi that everyone is waiting to grab their hands on, and a new photo leak online has possibly shown us how the back of the smartphone will look like – which is unlike the norm of today’s designs.

As a recap, the Mi 5s is set to sport a Snapdragon 821 chipset (2.4GHz), backed up by a 6GB RAM + 256GB ROM (UFS 2.0), a 5.15-inch display, 16MP rear camera with PDAF and 4-axis OIS that can also record 4K video at 30fps. Two main versions of the smartphone are rumoured to be launched - one will have 3GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage, the other includes 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory. A third model with 6GB of RAM and 256GB of flash memory has also been rumoured.

The photo that is leaked shows the back of the phone, which shows the possible 16-megapixel f/1.8 rear camera, and surprisingly no fingerprint scanner cut-out. This may mean that the front fingerprint scanner from the Xiaomi Mi 5 is still in use, and even more probable is that they will be using Qualcomm’s ultrasonic fingerprint reader instead //technave.com/gadget/Rumours-Xiaomi-Mi-5s-to-come-with-pressure-sensitive-screen-and-ultrasonic-fingerprint-reader-7527.html – which allows the scanner to live under the glass.

We shall wait and see the announcement from Xiaomi soon, as we approach the launch event for the smartphone. Stay tuned to TechNave for more info and news.
