According to reports, May 10 is the date to look out for as that will be the date where the first big phone from Xiaomi, the Xiaomi Max, will be launched globally. The first big phablet from Xiaomi is set to bring new tidings for the company, and the latest renders of the said phone sheds more hints on its metal construction.

It will be the company’s first smartphone with a 6+ inch display, 6.4 inch in this case, and is reported to feature a full metal body construction, according to the new render seen online. It shares more design similarities with the Mi product line, rather than the Redmi products, with some exceptions.

This includes the inclusion of three capacitive buttons on the front, just like the Mi Note. The metal construction is also shared with the Mi Note, but without the curved sides. It is likely that the 2.5D glass will still remain, but there is no sighting of any fingerprint scanner anywhere on the front.

During launch, it is expected that the Xiaomi Max will be launching in two variants – a 2GB/16GB and a 3GB/32GB RAM/ROM combo. It will also come out of the box with Android Marshmallow under the guise of MIUI 8, a Snapdragon 650 processor for both variants, and a 1080p panel for both as well.

With the launch looming soon, do stay tuned to TechNave for more details of the Xiaomi Max.
