While next week we should be looking at the new iteration of the MIUI and the new Xiaomi Max phablet, we may not see any shipping details of the upcoming Mi Band 2, as some production problems popped up. This is resulting in the delay of the introduction of the Mi Band 2 to market.
The CEO of Huami, the manufacturing partner of the Mi Band went on Weibo recently saying that there are issues facing the Mi Band 2 for production right now. The reason of the production delay was not shared, but most likely that the more complicated build of the Mi Band 2 is delaying production ramping to meet the needs when it goes on sale.
The manufacturing problem with the Mi Band 2 was also confirmed by Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun, who optimistically called for just a one month delay before the launch of the device. Stay tuned to TechNave for more updates of the Mi Band 2 Saga.
