The information came from Weibo as the user @groass digital said that the Snapdragon 660 is likely to be a Redmi Note or an entirely new Xiaomi series. Under the code number MSM8976 Plus which is similar to the Snapdragon 652 (MSM8976) and Snapdragon 653 (MSM8976 Pro), the chipset inside is said to be different as it’s built on a 14nm process, whereas the latter two are using a 28nm process.

To add on to that, much like the Snapdragon 820, the Snapdragon 660 could have its own custom Kryo cores, using an quad core Cortex A73 CPUs clocked at 2.2GHz and quad core Cortex A53 CPUs clocked at 1.9GHz, the GPU is an Adreno 512 and will support two LPDDR4 RAMs clocked at 1866MHz.

It will probably take Xiaomi awhile to manufacture that unknown phone, until then, stay tuned for more Xiaomi news at Technave.com.
