Rumours: Xiaomi releasing an update to their Mi Notebook Air

Just last July Xiaomi released their Mi Notebook Air, their first foray into the world of laptops. Now a new report states that they are releasing an update to the device, barely 6 months from its first launch. What make this model different is the inclusion of a 4G modem in the device.

As a recap, the Mi Notebook Air comes in two configurations – a 13.3-inch and a 12.5-inch model. Both are powered by Intel Core processors, and comes in a multitude of storage options that will suit the needs of the user. The new model meanwhile is coming with a 4G model built-in right into the device, negating the need for a smartphone or a MiFi device to go online.

As seen in the promo image above, the Mi Notebook Air seems to still have the same design as before, with the obvious difference of a 4G bar graph on the Windows notification area. This new model is definitely suitable for road warriors, as they would need the 4G connectivity without relying too much on free WiFi hotspots. No news as of yet which model will be getting the units, so you just have to stay tuned to TechNave on the 23rd of December to get more information on the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air.
