Not satisfied with having several new phones in the rumour pipelines, Vivo is said developing yet another smartphone with a large front selfie camera unit – this time under their V series. We may be looking at the new Vivo V5 and V5 Plus.

The two smartphones are said to share similar specs underneath the expected metal body – so the two are expected to come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 SoC, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. Some other V5 internals include an AK4376 Hi-Fi audio chip and, of course, the standard slew of sensors and connectivity options: Wi-Fi, GPS, GLONASS, Acelerometer, Light, Proximity, and E-compass sensor. The twins are also expected to have a huge 20-megapixel front selfie sensor with the moniker 'Moonlight Camera', which will make it one of the selfie champions in the market once they are launched.

The major difference between the V5 and the V5 Plus will be their screen sizes. The Vivo V5 will have a 5.5-inch HD display, and the Vivo V5 Plus is expected to have a larger screen. The two phones are also 4G LTE ready, with dual SIM slots and at least for the V5, a 3000mAh battery will juice everything up.

The phones are expected to be announced just about any day now, and is expected to be priced starting from 20,000 Indian Rupees, or about RM 1278. Will we see this phone head to Malaysia? Stay tuned to TechNave to find out.
