With Google possibly launching Android Wear 2.0 on 9th of February, there’s been a spike of smartwatch leaks and rumours. We first heard about the LG Watch Sport and LG Watch Style, which are to be the first devices to ship with Android Wear 2.0.

According to a new leak, ZTE seemed to be the latest company to join in on Android Wear. Allegedly called the ZTE Quartz, ZTE is working on its first smartwatch that runs Android Wear. Though, this is not ZTE’s first attempt at making wearables, as it had made smartwatches such as the W01, as well as Venus G1 and S2 activity trackers in the past.

Interestingly, the ZTE Quartz is rumoured to have Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity, allowing for data access even when not paired to a smartphone, as well as the ability of take calls on your wrist. There’s not much details on its specs, except for the model number being ZW10. This could be that ZTE is really good at keeping secrets compared to its competitors, or it is still very much in development and very far from release. Thus, it is impossible to tell if we’ll be expecting the ZTE Quartz to be unveiled during MWC in Barcelona later this month.
