According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, Xiaomi may soon be following in the footsteps of Huawei and Samsung as they are rumoured to be coming out with their own Pinecone processors for their upcoming Xiaomi Mi 5C or Mi 6 smartphones. Huawei's own Kirin processors are quickly proving themselves to be a match with Samsung's Exynos processors in their new Huawei Mate 9 phone so Xiaomi could reap huge benefits by making their own processors.
This also means that they would not have to pay extra for Qualcomm or Snapdragon processors but due to the high cost of processor development we don't expect this to cause the prices for Xiaomi phones to fall anytime soon. One fine day maybe, so no obvious Malaysia release dates just yet.
