Rumours suggests Sony PS5 Pro could launch by 2024

The Sony PlayStation 5 (PS5) isn't as widely accessible as the PS4. This is largely due to the pandemic, which has affected shipments and supplies. It's why we're always getting new "pre-order" batches from Sony Malaysia. Despite that lack of availability, sources think that Sony is already working on the PS5 Pro.

According to YouTube video, a Sony PS5 Pro is in the works and could be available as early as the end of 2023. However, nobody knows what Sony plans to do with this refresh. Some believe that the company could go for a big upgrade and make it capable of 8K gaming, while others think that Sony would want to improve on the PS5 and possibly make it cheaper.

In the video, the YouTuber explained how 8K gaming makes no sense to the majority of gamers. 8K TVs are already available, but they're unlikely to be affordable even by 2024. Also, a console this powerful could easily cost more than USD600 (~RM2489) and that's quite expensive. In my opinion, a 10-15% improvement while being cheaper would be the better strategy for the PS5 Pro.

What do you think, is Sony really planning to make a PS5 Pro? And if they are, what do they plan to do with it? Share your thoughts in the comments, and stay tuned to TechNave for further updates on this.
