Samsung Display is going all out with its foldable displays this year by producing 11 million of them. According to the source, the display manufacturer will also supply some of the foldable panels to Chinese smartphone companies. From what we see, 2021 is going to be the turning point for the foldable smartphone market.

It is reported that Samsung Display will be supplying 1 million of the stock to Chinese brands like Xiaomi, OPPO, and vivo, which are the companies that are rumoured to launch foldable devices this year. As for the rest, they will keep the stock for the Samsung smartphones. It is mentioned that those foldable displays are the ones found on Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Z Flip.

For now, Samsung Display only has a buyer for the foldable displays and it's Samsung Electronics. Earlier, HUAWEI had shown interest in buying the displays from the manufacturer but has later dropped due to the trade sanctions. The Chinese company ended up getting the supply from BOE instead. Now, it looks like the list of Samsung Display's customers for the foldable displays will be longer with many of the smartphone brands joining the foldable segment in 2021.
