Today, Samsung Display has officially unveiled MONT FLEX, its new foldable OLED brand, during the K-Display 2025 Exhibition in Seoul. Inspired by the French word “mont,” meaning mountain, the name reflects the company’s pursuit of peak innovation in foldable display technology.
What MONT Stands For
Samsung Display continues to lead the foldable market with breakthrough technologies. It was the first to mass-produce panels using Ultra Thin Glass (UTG) and LEAD, a polariser-free OCF innovation. The latest generation features a shock-resistant structure and a slimmer profile, marking seven years of mass production for foldable OLEDs.
Each letter in MONT encapsulates a core strength of Samsung’s foldable OLED panels:
- M for mechanical durability—engineered to withstand up to 500,000 folds
- O for opto-mechanical flatness—delivering minimal crease and vivid visuals
- N for narrow bezels—maximising screen real estate
- T for thin and lightweight design, enhancing portability and user comfort
The Future of MONT FLEX
Samsung plans to push MONT FLEX to elevate foldables as a key growth driver in the mobile industry. It’s designed to resonate with consumers and partners alike, reinforcing the company’s leadership in next-gen display innovation.
Will we see this on future Galaxy Z devices? Or perhaps even on Samsung's TV and monitor lineup? We will have to wait and see. Until then, stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
