Although the Exynos 2200 chipset wasn't as impressive as some would have liked, Samsung seems determined to keep it going. We're expected to see the Exynos 2300 this year, but sources claim that the Exynos 2500 is already in the works.

Allegedly, Samsung is working on a chipset that will feature a custom GPU with plenty of optimisations. The chipset is tentatively named the Exynos 2500 and is unlikely to be ready anytime soon. According to the source, it's a high-performance chipset for Galaxy, which implies that a future Galaxy S series device will be equipped with it.

If this chipset can deliver, Samsung could decide to ditch Qualcomm's flagship chipsets for an in-house solution. The company's chip fabrication arm lags behind TSMC, but is expected to be ready to mass produce 3nm chipsets by 2H 2024. As such, this rumoured Exynos 2500 chipset might only be ready in late 2024 or early 2025.

With the Exynos 2200's failure to impress, it's hard for many to feel excited for the alleged 'dream chip'. But having competition in the mobile SoC space is a good thing, so let's hope Samsung succeeds this time. Anyway, let us know if you're excited for a successful Exynos chipset in the comments!
