Just a couple of hours ago, Samsung Malaysia just silently launched a new smartphone on their Shopee online store platform. Called as the Samsung Galaxy A42 5G, this mid-range tier smartphone is priced at RM1599 and it may be the most affordable 5G device in the Malaysian market yet (even though 5G is not exactly live yet). Anyway, below are the official tech specs and features.

For starters, the Galaxy A42 5G features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G chipset which is capable of connecting to 5G which we mentioned earlier. The memory capacity is 8GB of RAM and a respectable 128GB internal storage, which can be expanded up to 1TB via a microSD card. It also carries a 5000mAh battery that supports 15W fast charging.

In terms of cameras, you can find a 48MP (main lens) + 8MP (ultrawide lens) + 5MP (macro lens) + 5MP (depth lens) quad rear camera. The 20MP front camera is hanging out on the notch in the top middle of the 6.6-inch Super AMOLED Infinity-U display. Despite using Super AMOLED, the resolution is just HD+ only. No gift bundle to be seen anywhere, even on its official online store but it's available in Prism Dot Gray and Prism Dot Black.

So what do you think of this phone? On paper, we think this is a pretty good value-for-money smartphone but it's not tested yet. Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more trending gadget news at TechNave.com.
