Samsung appears to be ready to revive the long-dormant Galaxy A7x series with the arrival of the Galaxy A77, the first model since the launch of the Galaxy A73 in 2022. So, what should you know about it?
It might feature the Exynos 2400 chipset
For your information, this became clear after an A77 prototype was found in the Geekbench database featuring 8GB RAM, Android 16 and a new chip that appears to be part of the Exynos 2400 family. Although the CPU layout is similar to the Exynos 2400 and 2400e, the lower clock speeds indicate that it is a more modest variant.

According to the information from the benchmark, this chip uses a deca-core configuration with three Prime cores up to 2.78GHz, three Performance cores up to 2.3GHz and four Efficiency cores up to 1.82GHz.
It could be a mid-range phone
Moreover, this combination clearly places the A77 in the upper-midrange category, powerful enough to feel premium, but not quite up to the level of a flagship device. It's possible that Samsung is using the low-end Exynos 2400 chip to bolster its mid-range phone lineup.
Wait a minute — Samsung’s A7x series is making a comeback. The A73 5G was the last device in this lineup back in 2022, but now the Samsung Galaxy A77 (SM-A776B) has appeared on Geekbench with a new Samsung SoC featuring the same GPU as the Exynos 2400 and 2400e.… pic.twitter.com/48bpIwZZSO

As of now, no other specifications of the Galaxy A77 have been revealed. However, the timing of this benchmark appearance coincides with the appearance of the Galaxy A57 on Geekbench, suggesting that the two models may launch together.
If Samsung sticks to its usual schedule, an announcement around March is likely, with more information and leaks expected to emerge ahead of the launch date.
