We have talked about the Samsung Galaxy M40 before, now it has become official in India sporting a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 chipset and other mid-range tier tech specs. Available in two shades of Blue (Midnight Blue and Seawater Blue), the starting price is 19,990 Indian Rupee (~RM1194).
Pretty affordable for a mid-range phone, this is all thanks to the PLS Infinity-O display but at the same time, it still uses Gorilla Glass grade. The Infinity-O cutout is where the 16MP front camera (f/2.0) hangs out and you will notice that there's no speaker on top. That's because it has a Screen Sound Technology which we assume that it only works for network calling and not for music or video usage.
Speaking about sound, it's interesting to note that there's no 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom of the phone but no worries, there's a pair of Type-C earphones inside the box and the Phone supports Dolby Atmos 360° surround sound
Moving to tech specs we already mentioned about the Snapdragon 675 chipset, and it will be backed up by 6GB + 128GB memory capacity, with expandable storage up to 512GB via microSD card, a 32MP (f/1.7, main) + 5MP (f/2.2, Live Focus) + 8MP (123° ultra-wide-angle) triple rear camera configuration. There's also a 3500mAh battery with 15W fast charging.
Other minor details include NFC and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, as well as a having a rear fingerprint sensor and face unlock, running on One UI based on the latest Android Pie OS out of the box. We think there's a good chance that this phone will come into Malaysia so stay tuned for that while we wait, only at TechNave.com.
