Samsung just released the latest security updates for the Samsung Galaxy S21 series. That is great if you are looking for a more secure way to protect your devices from malware. That said, what should you know about this security update?

As of now, this security update has been rolled out to the Latin American market. That said, we could see this update in more markets soon. That includes Asia, the US, Latin America and Africa. For your information, this security update comes with a firmware build number G99*BXXS9EWH1 in Latin America. This number applies to Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra.

Currently, sources say the August SMR (Security Maintenance Release) update is confirmed in Guatemala and Trinidad and Tobago. However, this update only affects your phone’s security feature so you should not expect much for other aspects. According to Samsung’s official changelog, this update fixes up to 86 vulnerabilities.

Once this update is officially available, you can tap on the notification and follow the on-screen instructions to update your phone to the latest security patch. You can also go to the Settings app, tap on Software Update, and then on Download. After that, you can tap on Install to manually check for new updates.
