The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE is made for those who want it all. From daily blogging to nighttime photography, this smartphone combines the latest technology into a more budget-friendly device.

The new FE model faithfully follows the Galaxy S23's classic aesthetics and practical features. It's available in four colours - Mint, Graphite, Cream and Purple - with each colour wrapped in a stunning metallic frame.

Camera-wise, the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE received a significant upgrade compared to its predecessors. It features a 50MP Samsung S5KGN3 1/1.56" sensor with 1.0µm pixels. Moreover, the sensor has a f/1.8 aperture lens with optical image stabilisation (OIS) and supports dual-pixel PDAF.

Besides the 50MP camera, the Galaxy S23 FE has an 8MP telephoto Hynix Hi847 sensor with 1.0µm pixels, paired with a f/2.4 OIS lens and 3x optical zoom. There's also an Ultrawide camera using a 12MP Samsung S5K3L6 1/3.2" sensor, which uses 1.12µm pixels and is paired with a f/2.2 lens.

Overall, the 50MP camera produces clear images with acceptable noise levels, slightly softer colours and a more dynamic range. You could even use the nightography mode for more detailed photos even at night.

As for the Ultrawide camera, it produces low-noise images with a very wide field of view. On top of that, it doesn't have that fish-eye effect, which is good. So, the camera's contrast and dynamic range are solid. As for colours, they are also fairly accurate and realistic, so it's ideal for landscape shots as well.

Portrait and Video - Nightography Edition

8K videos captured on the primary camera look great. They show accurate colours and white balance, a wide dynamic range, no noise and high contrast. If you have a 4K TV or sharp 1440p monitor, you'll see that these videos look amazing and have more detail than 1080p or 4K videos.

Even 4K videos shot on the primary camera feature look clear and have great detail, sharp colours and a wide dynamic range. You can also expect the videos to be audio noise-free. By the way, 8K videos can be set to 24FPS, while 4K videos can go up to 60FPS.

On top of that, the Galaxy S23 FE's cameras capture great videos at night. Thanks to the Nightography system, night photography can also be a fun experience.

Pro features

The Galaxy S23 FE's stand-out feature would be Single Take, which snaps multiple images and videos in one go. It lets you capture more meaningful moments via AI features. Interestingly, the phone's imaging AI can capture up to 14 different images and videos. The AI Best Moment will choose the best moment from your various output in photos. On the other hand, tools like Video Highlights and the slow Dynamic provide interesting options for your videos.

Pro mode allows you to produce the images or videos you want by putting more control in your hand. It gives you manual access to shutter speed, ISO, and exposure levels. You can also choose your filters and adjust the white balance settings to support different lighting conditions. For more samples of the Pro Mode in video recording, check our video here.

What's next? If you are a content creator, this feature might be of interest to you. The Director View mode allows you to record videos using the front and back cameras at the same time. Being able to capture your reactions while recording your surroundings can result in some fun videos. On top of that, it could make your videos more dynamic and distinct.

Last but not least, the Photo Remaster feature can automatically remove shadows and reflections in an image to make a subject stand out. It also lets you edit GIFs for better resolution and clarity.
