The Samsung Galaxy S23 series is not set for release until early 2023, but details and specs of the upcoming flagship have been in the rumour mills for a while now. The latest of which is regarding the telephoto cameras, whereby the series will allegedly reuse the same cameras found on its predecessors.

As reported by Galaxy Club, rumours claim that the Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus will have the same 10MP 3x telephoto cameras as found on previous Samsung flagship devices. Furthermore, the Galaxy S23 Ultra will also utilise the same periscope setup with 10x magnification and 10MP resolution from the S22 Ultra and S21 Ultra.

Interestingly, the much older Galaxy S20 Ultra had the biggest telephoto camera in the flagship series with the 48MP 4x periscope cam. Well, megapixel count is not everything as Samsung could bring better optics, larger sensor or even improve the image processing software.

However, do take this information with a grain of salt as nothing is confirmed as of yet. We’ll just have to wait until Samsung officially launches the Galaxy S23 series to see how the South Korean tech giant will improve the camera setup.
