In the last two generations, the Ultra variant of Samsung's Galaxy S series smartphones has kept the same display. Mind you, the Dynamic AMOLED 2X is a great display that should satisfy most people. But if you want a better display, next year's Galaxy S24 Ultra could be the one for you.

According to Ice Universe, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will finally get an upgraded screen. Mind you, he didn't provide any details about the new screen. But for reference, the Galaxy S22 Ultra and Galaxy S23 Ultra featured a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display. This AMOLED panel could output a resolution of 1440x3088, a 120Hz refresh rate, 1750 nits of brightness, and supports HDR10+. If Samsung were to upgrade on this, it would most likely be an upgrade in resolution, max brightness, colour gamut, or refresh rate.

Besides a new display, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to sport a new 50MP telephoto camera. It will use a 1/2.52-inch sensor with 0.7μm size pixels, and should replace the 10MP telephoto sensor of its predecessors. This sensor is expected to offer 5x zoom image quality with its 3x zoom. However, the other three cameras (200MP+10MP+12MP) will remain the same.

Overall, it doesn't sound like the Galaxy S24 Ultra would have too many upgrades. But for many, the 50MP telephoto camera alone could make it worth getting. How about you? Let us know what you'd like to see from Samsung's top flagship next year, and stay tuned to TechNave for more news about it.
