Samsung Galaxy S26 series prices could avoid the RAM price hike

As you may already know, RAM manufacturing costs have been spiking due to high demand from the AI industry. Most companies have been bracing for this and have warned of price increases for devices in 2026. However, the Samsung Galaxy S26 series could dodge the price increase.

Price increase dodged?

According to Roland Quandt, the Galaxy S26 series models will have "pretty much the same price as last year". The Galaxy S26 Ultra could be the exception, with prices estimated to be "~100 Euro cheaper for 256 and 512GB". For reference, the Galaxy S25 series launch day prices from last year are as follows:

Galaxy S25

  • 12GB RAM + 256GB storage - RM3999
  • 12GB RAM + 512GB storage - RM4599

Galaxy S25+

  • 12GB RAM + 256GB storage - RM4999
  • 12GB RAM + 512GB storage - RM5599

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra

  • 12GB RAM + 256GB storage - RM5999
  • 12GB RAM + 512GB storage - RM6599
  • 12GB RAM + 1TB storage - RM7799

The tipster believes that Samsung will absorb the increased cost in RAM "in most cases", suggesting that the retail prices for many Samsung devices could remain the same as they were in 2025. This could also mean the prices for Galaxy A and Galaxy Z series phones will dodge the price increases from the 'RAMpocalypse'.

Selective price increase

Quandt claims his info is based on retail data from a country outside of Europe. That means there's no guarantee that prices in other regions wouldn't increase. In my opinion, Samsung could maintain price parity for high-sales-volume regions like Europe and the US, while increasing the prices elsewhere.
