Samsung Galaxy S26 series to have new Exynos chipset, next-gen AI, and upgraded cameras

For those unaware, some interesting information dropped during Samsung's Q3 2025 earnings call yesterday. Besides its quarterly performance, Samsung discussed expansion on AI and semiconductor tech for next year's Galaxy S26 series.

2nm Exynos chipset?

Information about the Samsung Galaxy S26 series has been popping up in the last few months. Although details have not been confirmed, it's believed the Galaxy S26 series would feature the Exynos 2600 chipset. In Samsung's Q3 earnings call, the company confirmed that its 2026 outlook for semiconductors includes "focus on mass production of 2nd gen 2nm process".

In other words, it's reasonable to assume the Exynos 2600 could be a 2nm chipset. This means that the new Exynos chipset could deliver greater performance than existing flagship chipsets. For reference, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is manufactured on TSMC's N3P 3nm process. Having said that, the Galaxy S26 series is unlikely to be Exynos-only.

Sources claim that the company could also source two of Qualcomm's latest flagship chipsets - the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Remember how some Samsung devices became Exynos-only in a region or country? Well, expect that to happen again.

Of course, the Ultra model will most likely feature the 8 Elite Gen 5. We're not sure where the 8 Gen 5 would slot in, but perhaps in the so-called Pro model first mentioned in August?

Next-gen AI on the way

According to Daniel Araujo, VP of Samsung Mobile Experience, the Galaxy S26 series would feature "next-gen AI" and new camera sensors. There were no details or announcements on so-called "user-centric" AI features.

However, the earnings report does mention plans to "expand market presence by leveraging differentiated image sensor technologies". This should include the Samsung ISOCELL HP5 sensor unveiled earlier this month, and possibly other new but unreleased sensors.

Big upgrades next year

It may be too early to be optimistic, but the Galaxy S26 series could offer the biggest upgrades in the Galaxy S series in recent years. The official debut should come in January 2026, so do look forward to that. In the meantime, stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
