The Super AMOLED screen on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 offers a pixel resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels for a stunning display full of detail and clarity
We managed to check out the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and Galaxy Tab S 10.5 hands-on at the launch event yesterday and found that yes, these are indeed the thinnest and lightest tablets from Samsung we've seen and held yet. At just 298g the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 feels like a toy for it's size and while the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 is a bit heavier at 467g it is still super light for how big and awesome looking the screens are on both tablets. Both come in dazzling white and titanium bronze, which more or less means white plastic with gold metallic trim and black plastic with gold metallic trim. The backside follows the same perforated design as the Samsung Galaxy S5. Build quality is very solid despite both feeling super light but we have to say that it felt more rounded than completely flat. The tablets are running Android 4.4.2 and as expected of them, the main feature is their Super AMOLED screens. Check out the pics and video below for yourself:

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 feels very light despite it's larger than average size
Very thin at just 6.6mm, the side is covered with gold-bronze metallic trim
The backside is plastic with a perforated design and circular ports to attach the various covers

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 looks just as good and can SideSync with the Samsung Galaxy S5
While the screens were certainly spectacular, we have to admit that the sound was rather lacking, but we'll find out for sure if we manage to get our hands on a review unit. (Updated) Samsung Malaysia is looking to make a splash by pricing the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 at RM1699 while the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 will go for RM1999. This should make a big stir in the tablet industry as you finally get a premium tablet with a fingerprint scanner at fairly affordable pricing.
