Today, Samsung announced some new products that are coming to Malaysia. The first one is the Galaxy S25 FE, which is a fan edition variant of the S25 series launched earlier this year. Besides the phone, Samsung also unveiled two new tablets - the Galaxy Tab S11 and Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra.
Notable upgrades in tech specs
That's right, the Galaxy Tab S11 series (currently) has two models available. Both tablets are powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 9400+, a 3nm chipset that's a direct upgrade over its predecessor. However, we only have details on the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra's upgrade. According to Samsung, the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra has improvements of up to 33% in NPU, 24% in CPU, and 27% in GPU performance over the previous model.

Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra
As you can tell, that's a massive upgrade from the Dimensity 9300+. Overall, it's expected to greatly enhance app, AI, and gaming performance. Power efficiency and thermal management have also been improved for a longer battery life. The Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra also has a slightly larger 11600mAh battery than its predecessor.
On the camera side, the Galaxy S11 Ultra hasn't changed much. It still has a 13MP wide and 8MP ultra-wide camera at the back, as well as dual 12MP front cameras. The memory configuration remains the same - 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. However, there's also a 512GB variant now. As for the display, the S11 Ultra sports a 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support.

Galaxy Tab S11
The Galaxy Tab S11 shares many of the same spec upgrades. Its screen is a smaller 12.4-inch version of the Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, which is the same as last year's Galaxy Tab S10+. However, its 8400mAh battery is much smaller than the latter's 10090mAh battery.
Mostly software improvements
So, what's new in the Galaxy Tab S11 series? Based on the info provided, Samsung has mostly improved the software and features of the new models. Where the Galaxy Tab S10 series launched with Android 14 and OneUI 6.1, the Galaxy Tab S11 series will use the latest Android 16 and OneUI 8.0.
According to Samsung, the new upgrades include multimodal AI through Gemini Live. The AI platform is allegedly better at understanding the context of a text or voice prompts. In particular, Gemini Live promises natural conversations. The other Gemini AI features, like Drawing Assist and Writing Assist, are also accessible. However, Samsung did not confirm any improvements to them.

The S Pen was also upgraded and redesigned
Besides Galaxy AI, Samsung announced an upgrade to Samsung DeX. The latest version of the system features Extended Mode, which allows users to 'extend' their Galaxy Tab S11 series tablet's display into an external monitor to form a seamless dual-screen setup. Also new to Samsung DeX is the ability to create up to four separate, customised workspaces. Now, you can have one workspace for work and another for creative projects.
