Samsung Fan Edition or FE devices usually offer a few major features from the normal version but downgrade nearly everything else for a much better price. Priced from RM2799 this time around, the 12.4-inch 2K display, 8GB /12GB RAM, IP68 water and dust resistant chassis, IP68 Galaxy S Pen stylus seem to be the standout features of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ but there’s a number of other tech spec improvements as well.

We managed to get some hands-on time with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ recently and at first glance it looks to mirror the design cues of this year’s other FE devices like the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE and Samsung Galaxy Buds FE.  If you haven’t bought any of the various Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 tablets yet, do read on for our first impressions of this year’s Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ below.

As mentioned previously, the design for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ follows the overall design of the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE and Samsung Galaxy Buds FE, so this includes rounded corners, flat sides and a Mint green backside. The bundled S Pen is also mint green. Since the review unit is the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ it has a 12.4-inch IPS LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 1600 x 2560 pixel resolution. On the sides there’s the fingerprint sensor + power button, volume buttons and 2 stereo speakers tuned by AKG (one on each side) along with ports for the keyboard case.

At 6.5mm thin, it is slightly thicker than the 6.3mm thin Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE but the tablet still looks very thin. The bezels on the screen are just as thin as before though, but the front camera on the side bezel now has a 12MP ultrawide sensor. On the back, there’s also 8MP (wide) + 8MP (ultrawide) dual rear cameras in individual camera humps like the other Samsung Galaxy S23 series devices.

Other tech spec improvements include an Exynos 1380 chipset, 8GB /12GB RAM and 128GB / 256GB storage with a 10090 mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging. Like before, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ offers expandable storage with a microSDXC slot and only supports up to WiFi 6 (there is a 5G version as well though). Check out our first impression hands-on photos and tech specs of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ below, but do stay tuned for the review for more in-depth performance details.
