Samsung officially and rather quietly announced their rugged Samsung Galaxy Xcover 4 smartphone for €259 (RM1212) with a release in Europe sometime in April 2017. Tech specs are rather low-end with a 1.4GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, 4.99-inch 720p display, 2800 mAh battery and supposedly very good 13MP rear camera with a 5MP front camera. What is important is that the Galaxy Xcover 4 packs in IP68 dust and water resistance along with MIL-STD 810G military grade temperature and shock resistance.

It would be nice for those who work in harsh conditions here in Malaysia but perhaps Samsung Malaysia don't see a use for it in our jungles or construction site-filled cities as we doubt that it will ever come to Malaysia. Maybe they will or maybe they won't but if you do see it here it will probably be with a third-party seller like SatuGadget or DirectD.
