As previously teased, the Galaxy Z Flip5 was indeed released with a fully folding flat hinge. We have talked about the Galaxy Z Fold5 here, but we will be focusing on the new flipping phone by Samsung. Here's everything you need to know.
While it looks the same as before, the 3.4-inch Super AMOLED cover screen has a new Flex Window feature and runs at a 60Hz refresh rate. Samsung said it now has multiple customisation options, as well as more widgets such as replying to messages with a pop-up keyboard on WhatsApp and WeChat. The notifications and control appear by swiping from the top and you can swipe up for Samsung Wallet. Meanwhile, the interior panel is a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity Flex Display with a 120Hz Adaptive refresh rate.
Moreover, Samsung is working on integrating a digital car key and more brand collaborations will be implemented soon for Flex Window. Flex Mode is still there, alongside with FlexCam which can be used as a 'built-in tripod' for selfies. Furthermore, users can pinch to zoom out and see all of the widgets and quickly access whichever app they want.
In terms of tech specs, the Galaxy Z Flip5 uses a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The battery pack is 3700mAh and for the cameras, you can find a 12MP main camera with OIS, alongside a 12MP sensor with an ultrawide lens. The front camera on the interior is 10MP.
Samsung has also prepared a lot of accessories such as a leather flap case, ring case, and a flipsuit case. The flipsuit case has an NFC panel with a matching design that instantly changes the cover screen theme. We can expect these accessories to be launched in the Malaysian market.
