Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Z Flip7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 FE at the Galaxy Unpacked tonight and there's plenty to like with this year's models. In particular, the former has some big design changes and offers notable upgrades in battery and display. Let's go through what the two phones have to offer.
Galaxy Z Flip7
Right off the bat, you can tell that the Galaxy Z Flip7 looks different from the Galaxy Z Flip6. First, the new model sports an edge-to-edge 4.1-inch FlexWindow display. Nearly half the back of the phone is a screen, with the dual camera and flash LED sticking out from large punch holes. The bezels around the screen are also the thinnest on a Samsung Galaxy smartphone (only 1.25mm) to date. Samsung also upgraded the main Dynamic AMOLED 2x display to 6.9-inch (vs Z Flip6's 6.7-inch).

Besides the screens, this phone has a big battery. The Galaxy Z Flip6's 4000mAh battery is impressive enough, considering how small the clamshell phone is. But the Galaxy Z Flip7 goes beyond that with a 4300mAh dual battery, so you can watch up to 31 hours of videos on a single charge.
Powering the phone is Samsung's Exynos 2500, a 3nm chipset promising improved CPU, GPU, and NPU performance. For cameras, the Galaxy Z Flip7 has a 50MP main camera with 2x optical zoom, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 10MP front camera.

Galaxy Z Flip7 FE
Next, we have the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE. In terms of design, this model is closer to last year's Galaxy Z Flip6. For instance, it has the same 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display and 3.4-inch Super AMOLED cover screen. Their dimensions are also identical (85.1 x 71.9 x 14.9 mm), so it looks and feels like the Galaxy Z Flip6.
On top of that, the Z Flip7 FE has the same 50MP main camera, 12MP ultra-wide camera, 10MP front camera, and 4000mAh battery. Overall, you can think of the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE as a sidegrade to the Galaxy Z Flip6. However, the FE does have some differences under the hood. For instance, it has an Exynos 2400 chipset instead of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The RAM is also 8GB rather than 12GB, and the storage options include 128GB and 256GB.

The Galaxy Z Flip7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 FE are up for pre-orders from now until 31 July 2025, and will be officially available starting 1 August 2025.
