Samsung has announced the Galaxy Z Fold7, its latest foldable smartphone, which combines advanced features, a larger screen, and a slimmer design.
The device will be available for pre-order in Malaysia from 9 July 2025, with general sales starting 1 August 2025. Pricing begins at RM7799 for the 12GB RAM + 256GB model.
Sleek and durable design
The Galaxy Z Fold7 is Samsung’s lightest and thinnest foldable yet, weighing only 215 grams and measuring 8.9mm thick when folded. The device features a 6.5-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x cover display with a 21:9 aspect ratio.
Once unfolded, the phone reveals an 8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x main display, offering a more immersive experience. The screen is bright, reaching 2600 nits, making it easy to view even in sunlight.
Samsung also improved the phone’s durability with Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 for the cover display and a stronger hinge, reducing visible creasing.
Performance: Powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite
The Galaxy Z Fold7 runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chip, providing significant performance improvements over previous models. This includes a 41% boost in AI tasks, a 38% increase in CPU power, and 26% better GPU performance.
These upgrades help make tasks like real-time language translation and image editing smoother.
Camera: 200MP Main Sensor
The 200MP wide-angle camera is the most detailed camera ever on a Galaxy Z device. It captures 4x more detail and 44% brighter images. The phone also has a 10MP camera on the main display for group selfies and wider shots.
The ProVisual Engine optimises photos and videos, even in low-light settings, and Night Video reduces noise in moving subjects, making your footage clearer.
AI and Software: Smarter and More Efficient
The One UI 8 on the Galaxy Z Fold7 brings new AI features that make the phone easier to use, especially on the larger screen. Multitasking is more seamless, with the AI tools understanding your actions and helping you get more done.
It also comes with Gemini Live, which allows you to interact with the phone using voice and visuals, creating a more intuitive experience.
Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP) adds an extra layer of security, ensuring personal data stays safe. Samsung has also added post-quantum cryptography for more secure connections.
