After being told we wouldn't have to wait that long, Samsung Malaysia has announced the Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone here in the country. As typical of a Samsung flagship smartphone, it also comes with companion devices like the Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 smartwatch and Samsung Gear Fit smartband. While it probably doesn't need mentioning anymore, the tech specs for the Samsung Galaxy S5 include:

Features-wise, the Galaxy S5 has an updated TouchWiz interface and some updated S Apps like the S Health 3.0 along with the new 16MP ISOCELL camera. Apart from the MP increase, an image processor cuts down the autofocus to just 0.3 second with other new camera features like Selective Focus mode (for focusing after you've taken the shot) and a better Rich Tone / HDR for video recording. Connectivity-wise the Galaxy S5 now supports all LTE Cat 4 bands and the WiFi MIMO standard, while the Download Booster feature combines WiFi and LTE for a single download.
We kind of expected it from the previous teaser images but Samsung Malaysia will be offering the Galaxy S5 in just charcoal Black and Shimmery white with Electric Blue and Copper Gold coming later. You can pre-order the Samsung Galaxy S5 for RM2399 with a Malaysia release date on 11 April 2014. The companion devices of the Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 and Gear Fit will be going for RM899 and RM599 respectively. Unfortunately, Samsung Malaysia will not be having any Galaxy Gear 2 or Gear Fit bundle with the Galaxy S5 at this time. For that, wait for the Galaxy S5 telco deals but for now, do check out the official videos previously reported on.
