Samsung Malaysia Electronics has been honoured with the ESGBusiness Award 2025, a recognition that underscores the company’s leadership in sustainability, responsible innovation, and eco-friendly business practices. The award reflects not only Samsung’s commitment but also the collective support of its employees, partners, and customers in driving meaningful change.

Going Paperless with Digital Solutions

At the core of Samsung’s green roadmap is the push toward digitalisation. The company introduced services like the e-queue ticketing system to cut down on paper waste while improving efficiency. Between 2022 and 2024, over 359907 transactions were shifted to paper-free alternatives — an achievement equivalent to saving 35 trees. This paperless initiative not only streamlined customer service but also aligned with broader global sustainability goals.

Eco Repair: Extending Device Lifespan

Samsung’s Eco Repair program encourages customers to choose repair over replacement, reducing electronic waste and conserving resources. From 2022 to 2024, the company repaired around 41419 smartphones and 18417 TVs, a combined effort that helped preserve the environmental equivalent of 131316 trees. By making repairs more affordable and sustainable, Samsung empowers customers to make greener choices.

Eco Recycle Boxes for E-Waste

To tackle the rising challenge of electronic waste, Samsung introduced Eco Recycle Boxes at service centres nationwide. These drop-off points allow customers to responsibly dispose of old devices, tablets, and accessories. By the end of 2024, the initiative had collected 138.68 kg of e-waste, ensuring that discarded electronics were recycled properly instead of ending up in landfills.

Driving Collective Change

Samsung emphasised that the ESGBusiness Award 2025 is more than just recognition — it’s a shared achievement. Every paperless ticket, repaired device, and recycled gadget is part of a larger community effort toward building a greener Malaysia.

Looking ahead, Samsung says it will continue to champion eco-conscious innovation, combining technology and sustainability to create long-lasting impact. With this award as motivation, the company is committed to leading Malaysia’s sustainability movement and showing how small actions can make a big difference.
