Samsung Southeast Asia Forum 2016 unveils new Gear S2 classic colours and Galaxy TabPro S

Today, Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. have unveiled and showcased multiple new technologies that focuses on smarter living for their customers in at the Samsung South East Asia Forum 2016 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The new products that were presented by the company were – a new curved SUHD TV with Quantum Dot Display, Samsung AddWash Washing Machine, a connected Samsung Family Hub refrigerator, and a brand new Samsung Galaxy TabPro S that runs on Windows 10 OS along with two new Gear S2 classic colours in Rose Gold and Platinum.

The first presentation was unveiling a new line-up of SUHD TVs with 10 bit Quantum Dot Display, and the world's first bezel-less curved design that makes it easy for consumers to access all their entertainment content inside. It's also featuring a premium high dynamic range (HDR) experience with 1000 nit HDR minimum for a higher level of contrast between light and dark images, and a new Ultra Black technology that can reduce light reflection to enhance picture quality for the consumers' comfortable viewing experience. What's more, the SUHD TV's Tizen OS allows the consumers to access their favourite content and services, this includes various TV, movie shows to games and program information, this can be done in one place with the New Smart Hub, Smart Control remote and Smart View mobile app.

Next, the new AddWash Washing Machine is an interesting one as it has an extra small access door for consumers' convenience. The extra small access door is for consumers to add any item, such as a forgotten clothing, hand-washed items for rinsing, or an additional softener anytime without having to open the main washer door during mid-cycle.

Another Samsung digital appliance they introduce is the Family Hub refrigerator, the refrigerator has three functions which is to:-
  1. Serve as a communication center, the screen allows users to post, share and update calendars, upload photos and notes through the smartphone device.
  2. It also helps the family to monitor food management with three cameras inside the fridge, With this, users can identify which food they need or already have from their smartphone.
  3. Lastly, the fridge can also play music streaming with its built-in speaker, or for users to connect to Bluetooth wireless speakers. The screen can even be used for watching videos or TV shows.

Last but not least, Samsung also revealed the new Galaxy TabPro S. Their latest tablet is powered by Microsoft's Windows 10 OS and latest Intel Core M processor, designed for a fanless 2-in-1 tablet, with a super AMOLED display with touchscreen capabilities. The battery pack can be fully recharged within 2.5 hours and offers 10.5 hours for all day usage, the power consumption is only 4.5W for minimal noise disruption. Below are the specifications:-

  • 4GB RAM
  • 128GB memory
  • 12-inch FHD display with 2160 x 1440 resolution
  • 5MP for both rear and front camera
  • Windows 10 OS
  • 5200 mAh battery

Meanwhile, there are also two new editions for the Gear S2 classic, a Rose Gold and Platinum colour option. The Gear S2 will soon have Uber, ESPN and CNN access
