Two names that are unlikely muttered in the same breath has joined forces to build one of the more secure tablet in the world. This tablet has passed inspection and will be used by government officials in Germany. The tablet is called the SecuTablet, by Samsung and Blackberry.

The German Federal Office for Information Security’s approved the tablet and gave it a security level of “classified – for official use only.” The tablet leverages BlackBerry Hub for secure messaging and an encryption card from BlackBerry subsidiary SecuSmart. The SecuSmart card encrypts all data stored on the SecuTablet, and transferred to and from the tablet. It will use both Samsung’s KNOX and Blackberry’s own security softwares in the tablet.

The tablet will cost a whooping USD 2380 (~RM 9702) for the extra security, for a tablet that is essentially the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2. Do you think the price is appropriate? Stay tuned to TechNave for more news soon.
