Samsung previously reported about their upcoming Evolved Exynos 5 Octa chipset and now are releasing all the details. Codenamed as the Exynos 5420 the chip uses a new six-core ARM Mali T628 MP6 core that (according to Samsung)  provides 2x graphics boost compared to the previous Exynos 5 Octa chipset. The main processor runs a Quad-core of 1.8GHz ARM Cortex A15 processors linked up with 4 1.3GHz ARM Cortex A7 processors in a big.LITTLE configuration. This delivers 20% more processing power than the previous chipset.

Other tech specs include Dual-channel LPDDR3 at 933MHz for a memory bandwidth of 14.9 GBps, enabling full HD WiFi display support. An image compression solution for energy efficient multimedia loading, may provide better energy efficiency. No news yet on when such a chip would appear but manufacturers are already playing around with samples so we can expect some models after August when the chip is scheduled for mass production.
