Samsung could open a new era for its product design by hiring the former Chief Design Officer from Mercedes to lead its smartphone design team. The person in question, Hubert H. Lee, will now serve as the executive vice president and head of design at Samsung's MX (Mobile eXperience) division.

According to the report, Lee has more than two decades of experience in design and leadership by serving Mercedes in multiple design-related leadership roles across the US and China. He had worked as a Creative Manager and Head Designer of the Advanced Design Division. When working for Mercedes, Lee led many design projects and received multiple awards.

The company's MX division oversees all mobile products, including smartphones, tablets, watches, and more. Therefore, the future design development of the Galaxy products is now in Lee's control.

"Samsung is known for building some of the world's most beautiful products with designs that have transformed the mobile industry. I am excited to join a company that is on the bleeding edge of mobile innovation and lead the team responsible for creating new mobile experiences through the art of design," Lee said in an official press release announcing his new position.

Of course, Lee will not have a say in the design of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S23 series as everything might have been finalized by now. We could only wait until the Galaxy S24 series to find out how he could be a game changer for Samsung. Stay tuned to TechNave.com for more tech reports.
