The market performance of smartphone companies in Q1 2021 has been revealed by Strategic Analytics. According to the statistics, Samsung was on top of the list by controlling almost a quarter of the market. It has also become the largest smartphone supplier in the world as it has 77 million smartphones shipped in just the first quarter of 2021.
After Samsung, it is no doubt that it's Apple who holds the position. Despite the successful sales of the iPhone 12 series, the company was not able to overtake the Korean tech giant. The Cupertino-based company owns a market share of 17% and shipped 57 million smartphones.
Xiaomi and OPPO followed by owning 15% and 11% of the market share respectively. It is worth mentioning that Xiaomi has managed to increase the supply of its devices by 80% year on year. vivo has also achieved significant growth by gaining 85% on an annualized basis, placing itself at the fifth among the other smartphone manufacturers. Sadly, HUAWEI is nowhere to be found on the list as the company's shipments in the first quarter of this year only amounted to 20 million units.
