As the Samsung Unpacked event draws closer, we're getting more info on upcoming products. A new one that's appeared lately could be a new smart band from the company. Sources claim that a new Samsung wearable was spotted on the US FCC and it could be a fitness tracker.

According to Android Authority, the device in question bears the model number SM-R220. For reference, the last year's Galaxy Fit and Galaxy Fit-e have the model number SM-R370 and SM-R375 respectively. We can also see from the diagram in FCC that this new model has a 150mAh, compared to the 120mAh battery in the Galaxy Fit. In other words, this new smart band could be a direct successor to the Galaxy Fit.

This new model also has the same shape and basic design of the Galaxy Fit. But it apparently uses physical pogo pins for charging instead of NFC, which is why some people believe it to be a lower-end model like the Galaxy Fit-e. Whether this is the case or if it'll launch along with the other Samsung wearables during Samsung Unpacked remains to be seen.

Mind you, we're speculating a bit here so do take this piece of news with a grain of salt. But with that said, would a new Galaxy Fit be something you'd be interested in? Let us know on our Facebook page and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more news like this.
