Do you miss Samsung's fan edition devices? Early in April, it was rumoured that the company could bring it back later this year with the Galaxy S23 FE. It was also suggested that the device could feature the Exynos 2200 chipset, but that might not necessarily be true.
According to GSMArena, Samsung has an upcoming smartphone with a chipset that could be the Exynos 2300. In the Geekbench record, the device featured a model number SM-S919O and an unusual 9-core CPU. This matches the specs of Samsung's upcoming flagship chipset, which is expected to feature a 1+4+4 CPU configuration of 1x Cortex-X3, 4x Cortex-A715, and 4x Cortex-A515 CPU cores. For extra reference, the Galaxy S21 FE sported the Exynos 2100 chipset. As such, it's reasonable to expect the Galaxy S23 FE to also come with an Exynos chipset.
This unknown device could be the Galaxy S23 FE
In comparison, the Exynos 2200 has a 1+3+4 configuration, while next year's Exynos 2400 is expected to have a 1+2+3+4 configuration for a 10-core CPU. Mind you, this isn't enough to suggest the unknown device is the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE. However, the only flagship-class devices that Samsung hasn't unveiled in 2023 would be the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5. If you ask me, those two devices would likely feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 instead of the new Exynos chipset.
Of course, this is all highly speculative, so feel free to take this news with a grain of salt. Is Samsung planning to launch a Galaxy S23 FE this year, and would it feature the Exynos 2300 chipset? We'll probably find out in the coming months. Until then, stay tuned to TechNave for more updates on the latest smartphones.
