Recently, Samsung launched the Digital Home Key feature in Samsung Wallet. That allows Galaxy users to unlock their home using their smartphone. So, what should you know about it?

More flexibility and control over your security concerns

For your information, the Digital Home Key is built on Aliro, a CSA open standard for digital locks and smart door locks. The smart home door is registered using the Digital Home Key in Samsung Wallet through Samsung SmartThings integration. Once registered, the homeowner can open the door via NFC, control it directly from within the app, or automatically when nearby using UWB technology.

Moreover, the keys are stored securely in Samsung Wallet and are protected by Samsung Knox and pass EAL6+ security level standards. To ensure security if the device is stolen, the digital door lock must be authenticated via biometric scanning or by entering a pin code first.

Additionally, the supported smart door lock brands include Aqara, Nuki, Schlage and Xthings, with more to be added in the future. A digital home door lock support update will be provided this month.
