Samsung is seemingly launching a new version of the Galaxy S21 FE soon. A device with the model number SM-G990B2 got spotted last week, and it's said to feature a less powerful chipset than the Snapdragon 888/ Exynos 2100 that the current model packs.
The new version of Galaxy S21 FE could feature Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chipset. It's worth mentioning that the chip doesn't have support for 5G, which makes us believe that the upcoming device could be limited to 4G only. However, new information from Google's Play Services support list tells us that it might not be the case, as the device would still be compatible with the latest communication technology.
Besides supporting 5G, the Google Play database shows that the processor will be the only different thing. The platform still lists the other tech specs as the same as the current model. Therefore, the source assumes that Samsung merely wants to release a cheaper version of the device to attract more customers.
