Ads are everywhere nowadays, even in the stock apps that come pre-installed on our smartphones. Probably received too many customer complaints, Korean tech giant Samsung has decided to remove the ads from its stock apps, including Samsung Music, Samsung Pay, and Samsung Weather.

In an employee-only online meeting, President and Head of Samsung’s Mobile Communications Business, TM Roh, announced that the company would stop showing ads in its stock apps. It's said that the decision came up because an employee raised a question regarding why the company is showing ads and promotions in the apps. According to the report, Roh explicitly confirmed that Samsung would gradually remove ads from all its stock apps with new updates in the coming weeks and months.

The other reason Samsung is doing this could also be its initiative to build a robust ecosystem. Recently, Xiaomi has taken away the Korean tech giant's crown by becoming the world's no.1 smartphone OEM. Therefore, building an ecosystem that offers a better user experience could be a competitive advantage against the Chinese rivalry, not to mention brands like Xiaomi, OPPO, and vivo show ads in their stock apps.
