Samsung is reportedly excluding chargers and USB cables in the box for its upcoming smartphones

Nowadays, it’s pretty hard to find a smartphone that includes a power adapter inside the box thanks to a new environmental-friendly trend started by Apple with 2020’s iPhone 12 Series. Now, it looks like Samsung is following the same route and even going the extra mile by not including USB cables too.

According to a report from South Korean tech portal IT Chosun, Samsung is allegedly planning to completely remove all plastics from its packaging by 2025. Furthermore, the South Korean tech giant is also touted to push for reduced power consumption from its chargers and landfill waste at its business sites worldwide.

Towards that end, Samsung is also reportedly removing USB cables and chargers completely from its new smartphones’ packaging. The report suggests that the first device to implement this move is the Galaxy A series as early as next year, which is a continuation of the removal of the power adapter within the box for the series.

One good thing from all this is that Samsung reportedly said that the reduced cost of production would also be passed on to the consumer. Do take this information with a grain of salt though, as nothing is confirmed as of yet.
