Samsung is one of the first manufacturers and arguably the company that put foldable smartphones into the mainstream. Now, the company may be set to innovate consumer technology even further as the South Korean giant has been touted to release a “Tri-Fold” smartphone later this year.

Taking to Twitter, tipster Yogesh Brar on Twitter said that the device may “finally ship this year” after being in the rumour mills for quite some time. In fact, Samsung recently unveiled a prototype Tri-Fold smartphone back at CES 2023 in January.

The prototype showed off the 3-part foldable with dual-hinge which folds outwards to make one big tablet. Of course, as it was a prototype, the foldable shown at CES 2023 may not be exactly like the final product.

Do take this with a grain of salt too as nothing is confirmed as of yet. Speaking of which, Yogesh also shared that Samsung is currently working on improving the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5, as well as claimed that the Galaxy S23 FE won’t be happening.
