When it comes to foldable phones, one of the nitpicks that tech enthusiasts have is the crease right in the middle of the interior display. However, that might change for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, according to a South Korean news outlet.

In the news source, it was reported that Samsung could be planning to integrate a new "water droplet" type display structure for the Galaxy Z Fold 5. What this means is that there would be a new type of "dumbbell" type hinge, allowing the display to curl into a water droplet shape inside the phone to form a wide fold which you can see in the blueprint below.

With this, the new feature would allow the Galaxy Z Fold 5's interior displays to close completely without any space or hole in between when folded. For reference, all the previous Samsung foldable devices have been using a "u-shaped" structure which has been said to be prone to damage in the long term.

Samsung would introduce the new Galaxy Z Fold series in the third quarter of the year. Until then, we will have to wait and see. Stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
