Samsung may not be keen to upgrade the telephoto camera on the Galaxy S23 series

As the naming scheme goes, the next Samsung Galaxy S series flagship would most probably be called the Samsung Galaxy S23 series. It's normal to expect some upgrades but there is new rumour news that the telephoto camera could stay the same.

In case you forgot, the telephoto camera on the Galaxy S22 series is 10MP and sources are claiming that it could be the same on the Galaxy S23 series. Should that be the case, then the 10MP telephoto would remain together with the 3x optical zoom and maybe the 100x zoom-in function. The Galaxy S23 Ultra could very well be in the same boat too.

On the other hand, sources say that the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ may have better front cameras for selfies. The current front camera is 10MP and could be upgraded to 12MP, the first change since 2019 when the Galaxy S10 series debuted with the former. It's also unknown if the front camera would be an under-display sensor like the Galaxy Z Fold 3.

Of course, there are still many months to go until the annual Galaxy S series announcement in the first quarter of annually. You may take this news with a pinch of salt because anything can change up until that point. Stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
