Samsung is all about customizations for its smartphones these days. After launching the Galaxy Z Flip3 Bespoke Edition, which offers 49 unique colour combinations, the Korean tech giant has been spotted trademarking a new customizable protective film called "Fashion Film".
Discovered through the United Kingdom Intellectual Property Office (UK IPO), the Class 9 trademark application comes with the description "Protective and decorative films adapted for smartphones." Based on that, Samsung might be planning to launch designer smartphone skins in the future. To be more specific, they could come in the form of stickers that can be applied to the back of the smartphone, giving it a unique look.

Of course, this is not something new, as other third-party accessories have been offering similar protective films for ages. However, Samsung could still profit from the idea if it sold these skins as optional add-ons with the smartphones. It is believed that many customers are likely to choose the ones offered directly by Samsung rather than opt for third-party products.
Do you trust a protective film to protect your smartphone, or you will get a durable case instead for the purpose? Drop a comment to let us know your opinion, and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more tech reports.
