When it comes to Qualcomm Snapdragon chips and Samsung Galaxy flagships, they are often seen together but that might change next year. According to reports, Samsung may actually ditch Qualcomm and increase the usage of its own Exynos chips from now on.

To tech enthusiasts, it sounds like a bad idea as history shows, Exynos always seem to fall behind Snapdragon chips in terms of performance. However, Samsung's Exynos 2400 made a comeback according to this mobile gaming benchmark test by a Malaysian media website. In case you didn't know, the Galaxy S24 series is equipped with Exynos 2400 for the Malaysian market.

But that's probably not the only reason why Samsung may focus on the production of Exynos chips. Reports also stated that this can manage and reduce production costs. As you should know, inflation has been kicking up tech prices across the market heavily. So if Samsung relies less on Qualcomm for using Snapdragon chips on its flagships, external source costs would decrease.

Of course, it's too early to confirm this so you can take this news with a pinch of salt. If Samsung can continue to keep up the Exynos' performance and quality in the long run like the Exynos 2400, then it may finally have a breakthrough and catch up with other big players in the industry.
