Samsung might transition from Android to Fuchsia

When it comes to smartphone operating systems, most people are familiar with the two common ones - Android and iOS. But did you know there's a third one? Google has been working on Fuchsia with Samsung for some time now, and Samsung could put it on a smartphone in the future.

According to Sammobile, future Samsung phones may no longer use Android. Instead, the company will be using Fuchsia, Google's new operating system that's based on the Zircon kernel. Samsung has allegedly been contributing to its development, which could mean that the company has been making preparations to migrate to the OS. When this would happen was not mentioned, though the source did claim that it will take years for Samsung to adopt it.

In my opinion, there are a few things that could happen. First, Google could fully transition from Android to Fuchsia, which allegedly has lower resource consumption and greater scalability. Fuchsia could also be kept as a separate OS for selected product categories like smart home devices, just like Chrome OS being used for Chromebooks. Lastly, Fuchsia could function as an independent 'layer' on the Android OS to make it more efficient.

As you can tell, it's hard to say if Samsung would replace Android with Fuchsia on its future phones. Is the OS even capable of such right now? It's an interesting topic to explore, though we don't have a definitive answer yet. Let us know what you think in the comments, and stay tuned to TechNave for more news about it.
