Samsung has always depended on Qualcomm Snapdragon and its own Exynos for its flagship devices. If this new information were accurate, the Korean tech giant could trust the MediaTek chips to power its flagship lineup in the future, which it has been only using for budget devices.
According to BusinessKorea, Samsung is considering using an unknown Mediatek chipset in the Galaxy S22 FE and some Galaxy S23 units. The source claims that the chip will power roughly half of the Galaxy S22 FE and Galaxy S23 devices in Asia. It's still unsure whether the company will mix with other chips or directly switch to MediaTek for some regions.
There were no rumours regarding Samsung using MediaTek in its flagship devices, but some pointed out that the company is eyeing the Dimensity 9000 for mysterious devices. Therefore, the mentioned chipset might eventually arrive along with the Galaxy S22 FE, as it's MediaTek's most ambitious chip up to date.
What do you think about the news? Would you still get a Samsung flagship if it was powered by a MediaTek chip? Leave a comment to let us know, and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more smartphone rumours.
