As previously rumoured, Samsung will indeed offer seven years of software support for the Galaxy S24 Series. It was officially announced by TM Roh, President & Head MX Business of Samsung when he kicked off Galaxy Unpacked a few hours ago.

Like Google and Apple, the Galaxy S24 Series will enter a new era of software support inclusive of security updates and many generations of OS upgrades. Since Android 14 is the current operating system, we will be seeing the upgrade up until Android 21 in the year 2031.

With this, it marks Samsung as the second Android OEM to offer such great benefits. Previously, the company announced five years of security and OS updates in 2020 so it's good to hear this news. This may have to do something with supporting Galaxy AI in the long run, as it's the theme of the event.
