With the first quarter of 2020 over, companies have begun to share their earnings report to investors. Samsung also released its Q1 2020 earnings reports and it contains some interesting hints of upcoming smartphones for later this year. The report discusses the company's performance for its semiconductor, home appliance, and mobile business, among others.

In the report, Samsung indicated two key points. First, the company will continue to offer new premium foldable and Note devices in the second half of 2020. While Samsung didn't confirm the names of the devices, they're most likely referring to the Galaxy Note 20 series and Fold 2 devices. Secondly, the company will be expanding 5G adoption by offering mass-market smartphones, which suggests more mid-range 5G devices.

Interestingly enough, Samsung said that it "maintained sound profitability" in Q1 2020 for the smartphone segment, despite the sharp drop in overall market demand. This was attributed to the sales of the Galaxy S20 series and Galaxy Z Flip smartphones, which performed better than expected due to the higher retail pricing.

Considering the global COVID-19 situation now, fans will be glad good to have confirmation from Samsung that its new devices will come later this year. With that said, which new device are you looking forward to the most? Let us know on our Facebook page and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more updates.
